Product Labels and Inspection Body

     The Textile Industry Development Institute initiated the Thai Textile Quality Mark Development Project in response to the current consumption of textile and garment products that have been focused on quality, especially safety standards for consumers and being friendly to Environment and high-tech products such as Functional Textile

The project has 4 quality labels for Thai textiles as follows

– Textile quality label (Smart Fabric)

– Smart Fabric-Functional Textile quality label

– Eco-friendly quality label (Smart Fabric- Eco Textile)

– Smart Fabric-Functional and Eco Textile quality label

     These 4 labels can be issued to fabric products, ready-made garments, apparels, and home textiles that have passed the product inspection and facility inspection criteria as announced by the project and have been approved by the board of management of the mark Quality of Thai textiles for textile operators

     Having a Thai textile quality mark on the product creates a selling point for the product and increases the competitive advantage in the market because the buyers are confident in the quality and see the difference in the characteristics of the special quality and the safety in the same product category, and also encourages entrepreneurs to be determined to develop products to meet international standards.

     CoolMode is a label given to clothes or products that have special features to absorb sweat and cool the heat, making it comfortable to wear without getting hot. Manufactured to support changing consumer behaviors that want to help reduce the use of electrical energy from air conditioners, which contribute to greenhouse gas emissions that will cause global warming.

Clothes are an important factor that can reduce the use of electrical energy from air conditioners. Garment materials that have not been chosen to consider the characteristics of the type of fabric that is suitable for the behavior of electricity in large cities that are used with air conditioning systems are up to 60 percent, causing many people to adjust the temperature of air conditioners that are lower than they should.

Thailand Textile Institute Therefore collaborated with Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), from 2009 to the present, in the project to promote the development of clothing to reduce global warming to increase choices for consumers in the choice of clothing that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as encourage manufacturers and markets for textile products that help reduce global warming in Thailand.

3 special features of the fabric used to make CoolMode products

• Safety features for consumers Due to not using carcinogenic chemicals.
• Quality characteristics, usability and color fastness and strong according to standards.

• Reducing heat, which is a special feature that makes the wearer feel cool and helps reduce energy consumption from air conditioning because of its good ability to absorb sweat and transfer heat.

Nowadays, there are many techniques that will make clothes to feel comfortable to wear, not wrinkled, easy to clean and maintain. Energy-saving clothing 5 is a smooth garment that does not need to be ironed after washing and must be fabric tested under the CoolMode standard, which is a label given to fabrics or products that have special properties for absorbing sweat and cooling heat well. Quality, color fastness is strong, not too stretched or shrunk and is safe from harmful chemicals which covers all types of knitwear (Polo t-shirts, round neck shirts) and woven fabrics (shirts, suits, dresses).

Clothes that have been labeled to Magic Cloth No.5 has been tested to meet the standard requirements for 4 special features, including safety, quality, usability and color fastness, heat reduction, and evenness testing to ensure that the fabric is comfortable to wear. Easy to maintain, not wrinkled, can be washed, cleaned and dried many times and the shirt is still maintain quality without stretching or shrinking and still meets the standard smoothness.

Safety is an important thing that we should be aware of. Each year, loss of property and life resulting from substandard quality and non-quality personal protective equipment is due to the user lacking knowledge and understanding in choosing the right equipment. Manufacturers themselves are not able to communicate with users to understand the good features of the product. Having a certification mark for safety products, especially personal safety protection devices, will give buyers confidence and can make more appropriate purchases for use.

Therefore, The Safety and Health at Work Promotion Association (Thailand) in collaboration with Thailand Textile Institute and the Textile Industry Federation of Thailand therefore have the idea to inspect the manufacturer / importer of personal safety protection devices in the product group Quality textiles and standards by providing marks for certification of personal safety standards.

Products as follows:

• Materials used to make personal safety protection products (textile products), including fabric, zipper and Velcro tape.
• Personal Safety Protection Products (Textile products), including fire-fighting clothing, heat and flame-resistant clothing, anti-static clothing.
• Personal safety protection devices such as Gloves, Masks, Hood etc.

The presence of the certification mark on textile products appears on the product, creating a selling point for the product and increasing the competitive edge in the market as buyers are confident in the quality and see the differences in their characteristics. Special quality and safety in the same product category helps to be able to easily and conveniently buy quality and safety products. It also encourages more entrepreneurs are committed to developing products to meet international standards.
